SOUTHEND United have offered new contracts to youngsters Tom Clifford, Lewis Gard and Harry Phillips.
Left-back Clifford has impressed in the last eight games for the Shrimpers while Phillips and Gard have also done well when selected in midfield.
And Blues chairman Ron Martin has confirmed the trio have all been offered new deals.
"It's not simply as a result of their recent contribution but also as a consequence of their attitude, commitment and professionalism," said Martin.
"Ricky (Duncan) spoke to all three over the weekend and we hope to conclude the contracts in the coming weeks.
"I am delighted for these young players and again, it’s testament to the work of the club's academy."
Phillips scored on his Blues debut at Doncaster Rovers in January but is now sidelined with a knee injury he suffered during the 2-1 win against Lincoln City.
Gard has worked his way back to full fitness after 16 months on the sidelines with a cruciate ligament injury and has started the Shrimpers' last two matches.
The 20-year-old scored on his first game back, which was also his full debut, against Oxford United at the end of February.
