RESIDENTS spoke of their horror after witnessing a "horrendous" blaze near two Bournemouth schools late on Saturday night.
They had received a report from a resident who heard glass breaking and could see flames.
One resident, who asked to remain anonymous, told the Daily Echo: "I was watching television and then I heard a bang at about 10.20pm, so I came to look and saw a fire that was as big as the house in front of it."
Another witness said the fire "really was horrendous" and "quite daunting".
She said: "I had not long gone to bed and could see a glowing light that was different to a normal flood light.
"It was just seconds until I looked out the window and a shed was absolutely ablaze. It really was horrendous and was quite daunting."
Another said they saw a "pretty fierce fire" after hearing a banging sound.
As reported, firefighters from Redhill Park, Westbourne and Springbourne attended the incident and tackled the blaze, which involved an outbuilding in a garden, using two hose reel jets and a main line.
A fire investigation officer was also called in an attempt to ascertain the cause of the fire.
Crews left the scene at 11.09pm.
