THE Attfield Theatre harnesses the current focus on mental health for the third play in its current season.
Proof, written by American playwright David Auburn, is a drama which focuses on Catherine, a brilliant young woman who gives up college and friends to look after her ailing father.
Catherine has inherited her late father’s mathematical brilliance, but she is haunted by the fear that she might also share his debilitating mental illness. Upon his death, she feels left alone to pick up the pieces of her life without him.
On the way we meet Hal, one of her father’s former students, and Catherine’s sister Claire, who just wants the best for everyone.
In a tumultuous situation, Catherine finds both her world and her mind growing increasingly unstable.
Proof runs from Monday, March 2 to Saturday, March 7 with tickets, priced from £8 to £10, available online from ww.ticketsource.co.uk/attfield or by calling 07541 13511.
