LUKE Hyam and Joe Shaughnessy remain sidelined for Southend United.

Midfielder Hyam has missed the last nine games with a hamstring problem.

But Blues boss Sol Campbell confirmed the former Ipswich Town man could soon be back in action.

“Hyam has a slight inbalance in his hamstring but hopefully that can be rectified in the next two or three days and he can get back out there training,” said Campbell.

“Hopefully things can move forward.”

However, defender Shaughnessy is facing far longer on the sidelines with a knee injury.

The Irishman picked up the problem during Blues’ FA Cup defeat at Dover Athletic in November.

And he is still facing another few weeks on the sidelines.

“Shaughnessy has just come out of his brace,” said Campbell.

“He might have maybe another month to go.”
