SOUTHEND United manager Sol Campbell felt goalkeeper Mark Oxley made the most of his recall between the sticks against MK Dons.
Oxley had spent the last nine games on the bench for Blues.
But the shot-stopper replaced Nathan Bishop for the 2-2 draw on Boxing Day and Campbell was pleased with his performance.
"Oxley has come in he's played really, really well," said Campbell.
"He made some fantastic saves and it was a good performance.
"It’s all about rotating the team and looking at who is playing.
"Bish has played really well and he’s enthusiastic but we wanted to give him a bit of a rest as the pressure was building a little bit."
