POLICE have launched a hunt for thieves after three vehicles were broken into on the same night in Bishopstoke and Chandler's Ford.

Two vans and a car were subjected to overnight burglaries between Tuesday December 3 and Wednesday December 4,

Officers confirmed that a catalytic converter and "large quantities" of power tools were stolen, and that they are investigating the potential link between the incidents.

The first incident occurred on East Drive, Bishopstoke between 12.45am and 1am on December 4, where the car parked outside of a property was broken into and the catalytic converter was stolen.

Two vans, located on Drake Road, Bishopstoke and Beresford Road, Chandler's Ford respectively, were also targeted on the same night.

A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: "A large quantity of power tools were stolen. Officers will be looking into whether the incidents in the area are linked."

Councillor Tim Groves said: "I am shocked to learn about the break-ins to vans and cars in Chandler’s Ford and Bishopstoke. Residents and businesses need to be reminded to make sure their belongings are secure and alarmed.

"Restoring police and community support officer presence in our communities is also needed."
