A CAR has crashed into the side of a house in Lawford.

Emergency services were called after a blue Audi collided into the wall of a home in Wignall Street on Tuesday night.

An ambulance and rapid response vehicle were alerted to the crash at 11.20pm.

A fire crew from Manningtree was called to the scene at 11.26pm.

An Essex County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “On arrival firefighters reported that no one was trapped in the car and worked to ensure the utility supplies were disconnected and the area was safe.”

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 11.20pm on Tuesday with reports of a collision in Wignall Street, Lawford.

"We sent an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle.

"One person was taken to Colchester General Hospital for further care."

Essex Police officer were called to the scene too. 
An Essex Police spokesman said: "No serious injuries were believed to have been reported."
