CAMPAIGNERS are hosting a "guerilla gardening walk" to protest against plans for a 41,000 new homes in three garden communities across north Essex.
The public are being invited to join "North Essex Gardening Communities" as they traverse the area which would be covered by the planned West Tey garden community, between Copford and Coggeshall.
As part of the protest, members of the public will be scattering 41,000 wildflower seeds, one to represent each of the new homes which could be built at West Tey, east of Colchester and east of Braintree, if Colchester, Braintree and Tendring councils Local Plans progress.
A consultation on the councils' proposals closes next Monday (September 30).
Walkers should meet at The Alma, in School Road, Copford, or Coggeshall clock tower at 10am on Thursday.
Residents will meet in the middle of the route at The King's Arms, in Broad Green, for an informal meeting.
