MILITARY heroes and their families helped create wildlife planters for a recovery centre garden.
A team from Essex Wildlife Trust held a workshop at Colchester’s Help for Heroes’ recovery centre Chavasse VC House.
The two organisations have been working together since 2016 with projects seeing a range of wildlife-friendly features created. The wheelchair accessible planters are made from wood from the trust’s nature reserves.
Emma Ormond, landscape conservation area manager at Essex Wildlife Trust, said: “We are immensely proud of the partnership with Help for Heroes. We continue to draw on the strengths of both charities to deliver benefits for wildlife and people across Essex.”
The partnership between the charities focuses on encouraging Help for Heroes beneficiaries to join in with activities in the natural environment.
