CROWDS flocked to Dovercourt to enjoy a seaside festival.

Top musical talent from around the area came to the seafront for this year’s Beside the Seaside Festival last Sunday.

The festival, held in the town, hosted live music across two stages for families to listen to.

The annual festival also brought a host of traditional seaside entertainment to the beach.

The secret beach huts returned, and so did donkey rides, roller skating, and craft stalls.

There was also a sandcastle competition and performances from Harwich and Dovercourt High School performing arts students.

Michael Offord, general manager at the Harwich Festival, said the festival was a big success.

He said: “Despite an early downpour, the sun finally came out and the event was a huge success.

“It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying Dovercourt seafront.

“The feedback has been extremely positive and I would like to thank all of the local organisations, volunteers, performers and stall holders for taking part.

“Beside the Seaside Festival is run by the Harwich Festival on behalf of Tendring Council.

“It has been a pleasure to work with Tendring Council to deliver Beside the Seaside Festival 2019.”
