THIEVES broke into the home of an elderly woman and stole a purse, jewellery and financial documents.
The incident happened in First Avenue, Frinton, between Friday August 9 and Saturday August 10.
Police were called after a woman in her 80s noticed a number of items were missing from her home.
It is thought the burglars gained access by damaging the back gate and then entered the property via a kitchen window.
A red Aspinal of London clutch zip wallet, a large silver locket with art nouveau style markings on a sliver chain and a box of financial paperwork are reported to have been taken.
