Haystack fire spread to two fields
A HAYSTACK fire spread to two fields in a village.
Firefighters were called to the blaze in Bromley Road, Lawford at about 11.20am on Thursday, August 8.
A spokesman for Essex Fire Service said: "Firefighters were called to a fire involving a large haystack which had spread to two fields.
"Fire crews tackled the fire and managed to extinguish the field fire by 12.10pm.
"The haystack was left to burn under control in the care of the land owner."
