SCHOOL leavers celebrated the end of an era in style at their prom.
The Year 11 students from Thomas, Lord Audley School in Colchester were excited to celebrate the end of their secondary school days with their friends and teachers at the Marks Tey Hotel.
Lorraine Robertson, assistant head of Year 11, said it was a great but emotional event with plenty of music and dancing.
She said: “They arrived in a vast array of vehicles and stepped out on to the red carpet.
“There was a large gathering of parents and younger students along with a number of staff to watch them arrive and get those all-important arrival photographs.
“The students all dazzled for their final gathering and were greeted with a beautifully decorated room and DJ to party the night away.
“They were all impressed by the hot buffet and free drinks to keep them going throughout the evening.”
She added: “It is always a lovely end to their time here at Thomas, Lord Audley and we now wish them every success as they await their exam results in August.”
