PUPILS had a taste of different countries around the world at a multicultural day.
Parents of children at Iceni Academy in Colchester were invited to take in foods from their country of origin for everyone else to try. The children tried different dishes from the Philippines, England, Nigeria, Ghana, Poland, China, Iran, Kurdistan and Ireland.
The pupils were encouraged to try all the different foods.
Some of the children were a little unsure to start with but were surprised at how good the different foods tasted. One said: “I have never eaten food from Iran before, it didn’t look very nice but tasted delicious.”
Lisa Corby, head teacher at the school, said: “I really appreciate all the support and effort from our parents to enable our children to have this opportunity to experience food from different countries.“Everyone had a fantastic afternoon.”
