TWO men have been arrested in connection with an aggravated burglary where two men tied up a couple in their own home.

The terrifying incident happened in November when two men arrived at a house in Halstead Road, Fordham, shortly after 9am.

One of the men was carrying flowers claiming they were there to make a delivery.

But the men then assaulted the woman tied her up and demanded property.

Her husband, who was not in the house at that time, heard a commotion and went to investigate.

When he got there, the raiders attacked him and tied him up.

They then took cash and jewellery and left in an unknown vehicle.

The victims, who are aged in their 50s, were taken to hospital with bruising and cuts.

Essex Police have now confirmed two people were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary on Wednesday.

A 44-year-old man from Ludlow in West Mercia and a 43-year-old man from Lowestoft, Suffolk have since been released under investigation.

Inquiries are ongoing.
