DETAILED plans to build more than 200 homes in Mistley have been put forward.

Tendring Farms lodged detailed plans to build 204 homes and four commercial buildings as well as roads, parking and footpaths on land off Long Road and Clacton Road have been lodged to Tendring Council.

It already has permission for 300 homes.

The site has historically been a buffer between Mistley and Lawford.

Outline planning permission was granted in July 2016 for the creation of up to 300 homes and up to two hectares of employment land, with associated public open space and infrastructure.

The planning statement said: "The site is currently used as arable farmland and the approved scheme for phase on fills the northern part of the site, whilst phase two is in the southern half.

"The second phase is bounded by phase one to the north, by Clacton Road to the east, Dead Lane to the south and a site where 360 new homes are under construction to the west."
