MORE than 50 people including Worcester mayor Jabba Riaz had fun on the city's first Big Community Dog Walk.
The event organised by Reconnections, a project tackling loneliness in over 50s, saw the dog walkers meet up at Croft Road Car Park on Saturday morning before heading out on the walk.
Cllr Riaz said: "I believe in the value and the mission that Reconnections is on. Just along the walk I spoke to at least 15 or 20 different people I’ve never met before. The project is all about reconnecting people. It’s been a wonderful experience and a fabulous turnout.”
Organiser Janette Powell, from Reconnections, said: “We are very impressed with the turnout and the variety of dogs. This is the first one but we would like to repeat it in the summer.”
Reconnections manager Sophie added: “It’s all about getting people walking and talking -it’s been a real success."
