A PERSON has been hit by a train between Three Bridges and Horsham and all lines are blocked.
Shortly after 10am today, Southern Rail received reports that a person had been struck by a train between the two stations.
Emergency services and rail response staff were immediately sent to assist.
Trains between these stations may be cancelled or delayed.
Disruption is expected until 2pm.
British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to the lines close to Crawley station at 10.09am this morning after reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics are also in attendance and sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene.
"Officers are currently working to identify the person and inform their family.
"The incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
Southern and Thameslink are in the process of organising rail replacement buses.
Once confirmed these will operate between the following routes:
Horsham to Three Bridges
Horsham to Barnham

420 / 460 for Crawley, Gatwick Airport, Horley, Redhill
Southern Rail said:
"All lines are blocked between Horsham and Three Bridges.
"Thameslink services traveling from Peterborough will be terminating and starting back up again from Three Bridges.
"Passengers who require station in between please talk to station staff regarding onward travel.
"Southern passengers travelling towards Barnham are advised to take service towards Horsham and speak to station staff for onward travel or alternatively make your way towards Brighton and take service towards Barnham from there.
"Some Southern services towards London may be diverted via Dorking or Hove, please listen to on board announcements and check web journey planners for latest service updates."
