POLICE are no longer hunting for a man following an assault on a parking officer.

Essex Police interviewed a 25-year-old man, from Clacton, in connection with the attack.

He has since been reported for common assault.

The incident took place at around 1.50pm on Saturday, December 15, in Rosemary Road, Clacton.

It involved a parking officer working for the North Essex Parking Partnership.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "We thank you for supporting and sharing our appeals."

A spokesman for the partnership added: “We take staff safety extremely seriously and operate a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to violent and abusive behaviour towards our officers.

"Where we have evidence captured by body-worn cameras or other means, we will use it to fully support the police to bring an appropriate resolution through the courts.
