A pub has raised hundreds of pounds for charity thanks to a tribute to a much-loved comedy character.
The Red Lion Inn, at Latchingdon, hosted Call Me Dave Day – a day dedicated to actor Roger Lloyd-Pack, who played Trigger in Only Fools and Horses.
The actor died from pancreatic cancer in 2014, aged 69.
There was a running joke in the classic comedy which saw Trigger always refer to Rodney as Dave by mistake.
The pub raised more than £500 for Pancreatic Cancer UK, with money still coming in.
The event coincided with pub regular Leah Payne’s 44th birthday celebrations.
A pub spokesman said: “We had a full house in the evening but it was steady all day to be honest.
“It’s hard to put a number on it but it was probably more than 100 in the evening.
“We put a popular band on called Rekovered as well and it was Leah’s birthday, so it all added to a good turn-out and helped raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK.”
He added: “We didn’t let anyone fall through the bar – could you imagine if someone got hurt!”
The Red Lion also served special beers – called Dave, Rodney and Trigger – from Wibblers Brewery.
The pub donated 20p for every pint of real ale sold to the charity.
It plans to host the event again next year.
