MEDICAL masterclasses have been held to open youngsters’ eyes to careers in health care.

Potential surgeons of the future discovered what goes on in an operating theatre and the many roles which exist to make surgery a success for patients.

The series of masterclasses at Colchester Hospital gave Year 9 pupils, including those from Clacton Coastal Academy, an insight into the theatre’s department.

It was organised in partnership with the Essex Employment and Skills Board’s Essex Education and Industry STEM Programme team. For more information about the programme, visit essexesb.co.uk/news.
