COUPLES who are looking to tie the knot are being invited to Clacton's largest independent wedding and prom fayre next month.

Soon-to-be brides and grooms are invited to the perfectly timed event on Sunday, February 17, the weekend after Valentine's Day.

The event is organised by Michelle Allwright, from Frinton, and will see more than 50 specialist stalls in residence at Clacton Leisure Centre, in Vista Road.

The event is aimed at inspiring couples in the midst of planning their special day.

Event planner Mrs Allwright said the fayre will be a one-stop wedding shop and has invited florists, caterers, beauticians and jewellers as well as other Tendring-wide businesses to attend.

There will also be bridal wear, prom dresses, entertainers, hair dressers, photographers, cake makers and travel advisors.

At 11am and 1pm there will also be catwalk shows with models wearing the latest women's and menswear collections.

Mrs Allwright, 46, said this year's fair is the third time the annual event has taken place.

She added: "Across the board it’s a hard time for suppliers, so by promoting local businesses it will help buyers from going further afield or using the internet for purchases.

"By having a wedding fayre we have suppliers all under one roof, so you get individual attention and ideas for your special day.

"It’s also a great opportunity to pick up lots of discounts and offers on the day

"Not only do we promote wedding day suppliers, we also have a fabulous rage for prom day.

"It’s a privilege for me to host our third annual wedding and prom fayre and we hope this year will be our busiest so far."

The event, which runs from 10am to 3pm, includes free parking.
