A BUSINESS in Southend that sells clothes made from recycled materials is in the final to win a nationwide competition for a £20,000 grant.
Courier delivery service company FedEx has announced its ten finalists for its annual Small Business Grant competition.
Amongst those is Sundried, an ethical sportswear brand that sells clothing and accessories made from recycled bottles, mixed coffee grounds and more.
One of the ten finalists will go on to win £20,000, with the runner-up receiving £10,000.
FedEx Express received a significant number of applications from UK SMEs. The businesses that reached the final hail from a variety of sectors; from a zero-waste supermarket to a DIY skincare brand.
The ten businesses progressed into the final following their successful pitches outlining their international ambitions and plans for future growth.
The winner and runner up of the competition will be announced on January 24.
Sundried began several years ago and has grown in popularity with men and women's sporting products.
Last year, it hosted the first Sundried Southend Triathlon, which returned again this year.
