A THIRD person has been arrested following the sudden death of man in Colchester.

Police issued a warning about a suspected "dangerous" batch of cocaine following the death of a 22-year-old man.

Officers executed a warrant in Clarendon Way, Colchester, at around 8pm on Saturday and arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs.

He remains in custody for questioning.

The 22-year-old, from Colchester, died after becoming unwell at a property in Egerton Green Road at around 2.50am on Saturday.

A 20-year-old woman from Colchester who also became unwell remains in hospital in a stable condition.

A 20-year-old man from Elmstead and a 35-year-old man from Colchester, who were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences, have been released under investigation.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Our warning about a dangerous batch of cocaine continues to remain in place this weekend.

"We have not received any further reports of anyone needing medical assistance after taking cocaine in the district, however, if you have taken any drugs and start to feel unwell please seek medical attention."
