SPECSAVERS opticians in Colwyn Bay welcomed 62 local school children to the store over the course of one extraordinary day to help them learn all about eyes.

The opticians in Bay View Shopping Centre went over and above to help the young people of Ysgol Pen y Bryn with their school topic on opticians this autumn by inviting them into a real optometry practice.

The Year Three pupils met assistant manager Justine Williams in four groups and learned about everything from the eye test booking process to the stages of an eye test itself, while also visiting a test room and discovering more about the equipment used.

Justine said: “We had a fantastic day getting to know the Year Three children of Ysgol Pen y Bryn school.

“We were very impressed with their knowledge of the eye and by their questions, and we were delighted to be able to give them this experience of a real life opticians, after all their hard work and research in the classroom. They can come back any time.”
