A SUPER-SLIMMER who shrunk from a size 20 to a 14 has been put forward for a national competition.

Miss Thompson, 26, was named Parsons Heath's Miss Slink 2018 by her fellow slimmers at Acorn Hall Slimming World group in Colchester after dropping three dress sizes.

She has now been put forward as the group's representative for Slimming World's annual weight loss competition.

Mia said: "I was already really looking forward to this Christmas and finally feeling glamorous enough to wear the outfits I always dreamed of. Winning the title of Miss Slinky means I have even more to celebrate and I know this festive season will be even more special.

"When I was bigger I was really unhappy. I didn’t like what I saw when I looked in the mirror, I hated shopping for clothes and I felt self-conscious most of the time. Things are completely different now and I feel much more confident than I used to, I never thought anyone would ever describe me as ‘slinky’ so it’s just incredible to be Miss Slinky 2018.

Mia said she is now looking forward to Christmas parties.

She added: "Christmas is a time of year for getting dressed up and having a good time. Before I lost weight I would dread it though, because I could never find anything to wear on nights out and I would feel uncomfortable and out of place, that’s if I didn’t make an excuse to avoid socialising completely.

"This year I’ll be accepting every invitation I receive and instead of hiding in baggy or black clothes, I’ll be showing off my new figure – I can’t wait."
