Work to repair a sea wall in Old Colwyn has begun nine months after being damaged during a storm.
The sea wall was battered in February by strong winds and high tides resulting in the damage to the coastal defences just by Rotary Way.
Conwy County Borough Council (CCBC) and Welsh Water are now working together to fix the problem but works aren't expected to be completed until spring 2019.
A CCBC spokesperson said: "Conwy County Borough Council is working with Welsh Water to repair this part of Old Colwyn promenade.
"The sea wall was damaged by a particularly heavy storm earlier this year, which has also affected a section of the promenade.
"We are working with our contractor and liaising with Welsh Water engineers, and expect the work to be completed by spring 2019."
The start of the works come just weeks after Conwy councillors said the defences in Colwyn Bay need urgent attention to protect transport links including the A55 from a large storm.
