BUDDING photographers are being invited to take part in an Essex Wildlife Trust competition.

The conservation charity is looking for people with a passion for wildlife and photography to submit their favourite images celebrating the county’s wildlife.

Participants can submit up to three images across six categories.

All images must be taken in Essex during 2018 and must be submitted by November 30.

The winners will be announced next year and a prize-giving event will be held at one of Essex Wildlife Trust’s visitor centres, with the overall winner receiving a prize of £200 and a trophy.

The photography competition is sponsored by Adult Community Learning, part of Essex County Council.

The categories are: Smart Work for smartphone pictures, Gardener’s World, Wildlife Motion Picture, Nature’s Funny Side, EWT to a Tee for images taken at an Essex Wildlife Trust nature reserve, and Young Blood for participants aged between six and 14.

A spokeswoman from Essex Wildlife Trust said: “We want to continue inspiring others to get outside and appreciate our county’s wonderful wildlife and wild places.”

Entries can be submitted to photographycompetition@essexwt.org.uk stating the category entered.
