A POPULAR shop is moving back to its home after ten months away following a devastating ram raid.

Crooks smashed into the East of England Co-op store in Dedham High Street in an early morning attempted burglary last December using a Toyota Hilux.

The crooks got away in another vehicle.

Nothing was taken, but the building suffered a huge amount of damage.

In a bid to get the busy store open in time for Christmas, bosses worked with the community to find an alternative location and the shop has been trading from Duchy Barn in the village ever since.

But now the shop has been restored and is due to reopen next Tuesday. *OCT30*

The first 30 customers who arrived after the opening at 9am are set to receive a £5 voucher.

Co-op joint chief executive Roger Grosvenor said: “We are incredibly grateful for all the support we have had from the Dedham community over the last ten months.

"It has been a true example of co-operation in action.

"We’re now looking forward to getting back to our High Street store and continuing to serve the people of Dedham.”

Opening hours once the shop is up and running will be between 7am and 10pm.
