A FRANCHISEE hopes fast food customers will be “lovin’ it” when Clacton’s new drive-thru McDonald’s opens – creating more than 100 new jobs.

The new restaurant at the under-construction Brook Retail Park West is set to open in November.

Franchisee Craig Newnes, who lives in Frinton, said the new drive-thru will be state-of-the-art.

He said: “This new restaurant is excellent news for the local area and I will be looking forward to hiring over 100 new staff.

“The restaurant inside will be stunning and striking, but will create a relaxed atmosphere in its contemporary design for our valued customers.

“Outside we will have a play place and lots of external seating along with a dual drive thru lane to help our customers eat on the go.

“Digital technology is at the heart of our customers’ experience with self-service kiosks and table service available from day one.

“I’m so pleased and proud to announce the job creation for the local area.

“The jobs come with good benefits, including a comprehensive employee discount package, full training is given with great scope to progress.

“I will also be offering guaranteed hour contracts alongside our flexible hours working contracts.

“We have a great apprenticeship scheme, which goes all the way through to degree level for qualifying candidates.”

“I can’t wait to open the new drive-thru in Clacton,” he added.

“It’s a very exciting time for the business and with other businesses closing, I’m proud to be expanding in the tough trading environment we are in.”

Mr Newnes took over Clacton’s Pier Avenue and Weeley restaurants in March and he also owns restaurants in Colchester and Sudbury.

The new restaurant will bring the number of people he employs to more than 350.
