A CAT that was left to fend for itself after her owner got dementia is in need of a new home.

The Tendring branch of Cats Protection is appealing for help to rehome seven-year-old Lulu.

The tortoiseshell female has been in foster care for more than six months.

Jenny Edwards, from Tendring branch of Cats Protection, said the charity is desperate to find Lulu a home.

She said: “Lulu’s story is very sad. Her previous owner was suffering from dementia, so Lulu was left to fend for herself and quite often was not fed and ignored.

“Lulu has struggled in foster care and is now the archetypal naughty torty and will need a really understanding owner to coax her back to trusting humans again.

“She still has kitten in her and likes playing with her toys, but is cautious around people hence why she has been overlooked for so long.

“She would suit a quiet home with no children or other pets “ Anyone who can offer Lulu a loving home is asked to call Tendring Cats Protection on 01255 744014.
