FOR one woman, the answers to a lifetime's unanswered questions could lie in Clacton.

Denise Russell hasn't seen her father, Brian, since he left England in 1964 for a fresh start in Australia.

She has it on good authority that he is currently staying in Clacton - and she is desperate to track him down.

The home care assistant, who lives in Berkshire, said: "He moved to Mullumbimby in New South Wales when I was very young.

"It had a lot to do with family history - he and my mother, Sally, got divorced and I have had no contact with him since then."

However, Denise's sister, who herself emigrated to Australia some years ago, has come across information pointing to the possibility that their dad has just arrived in Clacton on holiday.

"I believe he travelled with his brother," said Denise, who is in her mid-40s and has four children. "I can only guess but he's probably staying there for about four to six weeks."

The idea of being reunited with her father means the world to Denise, who has been seeking contact with him for about 20 years.

"When I was younger I often wanted to find him - I needed to find out who I was," she said.

"He was a bit of a mystery to me.

"I've got lots of unanswered questions and have been through every scenario possible when I think about meeting him."

It is thought that the 70-year-old is staying with a sister in Clacton.
