A MAN was trapped for almost 40 minutes after a two-car crash in Thorpe-le-Soken.
Firefighters managed to free the victim after the smash in Abbey Street, near the junction with Station Road.
Crews from Clacton and Weeley went to the scene at 1.10pm today.
A fire brigade spokesman said: "On arrival, crews advised that one male was trapped following the incident, which involved two vehicles.
"Firefighters worked hard to free the man by 1.47pm, before leaving him in the care of the ambulance service."
The accident partially blocked the road.
Traffic was reported to be slow moving in both directions approaching the scene.
The road was cleared by 2pm.
