Hundreds gear up for pier to pier walk in aid of hospice
HUNDREDS of walkers are gearing up for St Helena Hospice’s annual pier to pier walk next week.
About 1,000 walkers will be taking on the challenge on April 22.
The walk has become one of the biggest fundraisers in the charity’s calendar.
The 11th annual event will see walkers of all ages setting off at 10am from both piers on seven or 14-mile treks.
Many supporters walk together to remember a loved one who was cared for by staff at the hospice.
The event is free to take part in but the hospice urges each registered walker over the age of 16 to raise at least £30.
