A £150,000 investment into Great Bentley’s train station waiting room is underway.
The old waiting room was demolished over the weekend to make way for a new shelter which is due to to be completed by the end of year.
The refurbishment is part of Greater Anglia’s £60million improvement works to stations across its network.
A company spokesman said: “We are making improvements to Great Bentley station.
“The existing waiting shelter and canopy on the London-bound platform will be demolished and a new shelter will be built.
“The existing waiting room on the Clacton-bound platform will be refurbished, and a new, additional waiting shelter will also be erected on that platform.”
Train users have been told that services will not be affected.
