FLAGS at Tendring Council buildings are being flown at half-mast today as a mark of respect to the victims of the horrific fire at Grenfell Tower in London.
All UK government buildings have lowered flags and they will remain at half mast until at least 8pm.
In Tendring it will involve the flags at Clacton Town Hall and the council offices in Weeley.
A minute’s silence was also held at a council meeting in the Princes Theatre last night.
Council leader Neil Stock said: “Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have died or been injured, their families and friends, and the whole community living around Grenfell Tower at this very difficult time.”
