Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Pier Avenue, Clacton.
The attack happened around 10pm on Friday, November 18 at Christmas Tree Island.
Essex Police said the victim, a man aged in his 20s and from Clacton, was walking through the town centre when he was verbally abused by two men. One of them then hit him in the face a number of times, breaking his nose and fracturing his eye socket. He had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.
Police describe the first suspect as white, 5ft 8ins tall, slim, with blond hair which was short at the sides and gelled on top. He was wearing blue jeans and a zipped up black coat. The second man was wearing a black hooded top with the hood up.
Detectives have been making a number of enquiries including reviewing CCTV but are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
