PETROLHEAD Mark Walsh got the surprise of his life when his dream £60,000 car was delivered to his doorstep – with £10,000 in the boot.

Mr Walsh, 58, had no idea the brand new Jaguar V6 F-Type was his when it pulled up outside his house, St Mary’s Road, Aingers Green, yesterday.

His family had kept the win a secret and he had taken the day off work to take his grandchildren out.

Factory production manager Mr Walsh, was instead met by Win Your Dream Car website BOTB.com’s Rupert Garton with the keys to the plush sports car and £10,000 in the boot.

Mr Walsh, who has paid £3 a week to enter the competition for the last seven years, said: “It’s absolutely amazing, I wasn’t expecting it at all.

“I have come close a few times playing spot the ball, some weeks I’ve been very close.

“At the moment I drive a Vauxhall Insignia SRi, which is a lovely family car, but now I have something sporty of my own – I absolutely love it.

“We are a family of petrol heads – one of my son’s did a lot of go-kart racing and we never miss a grand prix.

“I still don’t know what I’ll do with all the cash.”

Mr Walsh was joined by his wife Maureen, sons Chris and Paul, his daughter-in-law Liz and grandchildren Jack and Charlie for the surprise.

Mrs Walsh said: “Mark was ecstatic. He’s played spot the ball for a little while, but he’d never won anything before.

“But now he’s come away with a dream car, he’s over the moon.”
