PANTO bosses are celebrating after more than 2,000 paying punters saw Cinderella at Clacton's West Cliff Theatre.

Clacton Musical Theatre Society's spectacular show packed in more than 400 people at last Friday's opening.

And the full house signs had to go up at Sunday's curtain-closer.

Spokesman Jackie West said: "It was one of the best we have done for a long, long time.

"There wasn't a single seat left on Sunday and only 18 on Saturday afternoon.

"We were over the moon - everyone was amazed."

Cinders was played by Cassie Weston.

"When she was shown to her coach even the adults had a tear in their eyes," said Jackie.

"She is such a lovely girl and really worked her magic on the audience - it was very emotional.

Clacton and Frinton Gazette:

  • Cassie Weston wowed crowds as Cinderella

"The Ugly Sisters, played by Keith Peck and Steve Salmon, got so many laughs - the kids were bent double.

"Vicky Huxter is new to the society. She was the Fairy Godmother and her voice was beautiful. The other song that had everyone clapping and cheering was the duet between Cinderella and the Prince, played by Sam Slim - their harmonies were perfect.

"The whole thing was wonderful. People said it was like being in the West End."
