AN army of artists helped to create a huge drawing that will be wrapped around a historic Martello Tower in Jaywick.
The creative effort was fronted by Mistley- based artist Doug Selway as part of the international Big Draw event, aimed at getting people drawing.
The effort took place on Saturday and yesterday, at the Napoleonic-era fort, in Belsize Avenue, after an exhibition by the artist there this summer.
Kerith Ririe, manager of the tower, said: “This year’s theme for the Big Draw is that every drawing tells a story.
“So our idea is for a Bayeux tapestrystyle piece wrapping around the tower, telling the stories of those people involved in the work.
“The artists have drawn around visitors and they have then filled out their story.”
“Doug did an exhibition with us in June and he came up with the idea of getting involved in the Big Draw.
“We wanted everyone at the tower to tell a story and all of those stories will be put together.”
