A TOWN centre fast food restaurant is set for a hi-tech revamp.

McDonald’s, in Pier Avenue, Clacton, will be kitted out with a new entrance and automatic sliding doors.

The shop front and interior will also be upgraded, including being fitted with new LCD screens and signs.

McDonald’s has been running the Pier Avenue restaurant since the 1980s.

The company says the Clacton revamp will bring it up to date and in line with its corporate identity.

Tendring Council approved the plans, deciding they would give the prominent town centre building a fresher and more open appearance.
