RELIEVED residents in retirement flats have won their fight for new security fencing to combat vandals.
People living at Hanover Gardens in Holland Road, Clacton, had complained about people damaging plants and shrubs.
There were also reports of youngsters running over gardens and staring in through people's windows.
Hanover Housing Association has now been given the go ahead to put up 4ft-high railings around the complex, which has three blocks of two-storey flats.
Tendring Council said there had been no objections to the fence.
