A CENTENARIAN celebrated her 101st birthday by performing a duet for friends at a Clacton care home.

Elizabeth Payne, who is known as Sissy, was born in London the year the First World War broke out.

She moved to Essex in 1947.

Sissy marked her birthday at Clacton’s Corner House care home with family and friends.

Youngsters from Willow Tree Nursery sang songs and presented her with a card and gift.

A Cockney singer also provided entertainment before Sissy and another resident performed their duet – and enjoyed a sherry or two.

Corner House spokeswoman Tracy Josko said: “Her secret to a long life is a little bit of what you fancy does you good!”
