RESIDENTS angry at plans for 165 new homes in Little Clacton have hit back at the developer after he said he “loves” the village.

Nigel Barrington-Fuller wants to build 131 houses and 24 flats on 16 acres of farmland, off The Street.

He said Little Clacton would benefit from the development and there would not be “swarms of Londoners coming in and taking over”.

But outraged villagers have formed the Save Our Village group to campaign against Mr Barrington-Fuller's proposals.

Anti-homes campaigner Martyn Reed said: “He states he loves the village, which I find rather profound.

“Save Our Village has over 1,100 petition signatures and 182 written objections – the village is saying ‘no’ to the development."
