CLACTON Pier has gone hi-tech after launching a new cashless card system to replace traditional ride tokens.
The new Fun Card is designed to bring the town’s oldest building into the 21st century.
Spokesman Shane Lord said it was the first pleasure park in the country to adopt the new system.
He said: “The Fun Card will eventually be accepted as a payment method at every point of sale and attraction throughout the whole pier.”
The card can be used for rides, attractions and arcade machines.
Visitors can also collect points.
It will be offered alongside the pier’s popular ride wristbands, which allow visitors unlimited rides for a whole day.
- Clacton Pier’s first free fireworks display of the season is on Easter Sunday, April 5.
