A SPECIAL event is being staged for landlords to help them deal with tenants with money problems following changes to the benefits system.
More residents are expected to find themselves in financial difficulty after the Government launches its new Universal Credit system in the Tendring district later this year.
Tendring Council is now providing advice to help landlords over the day-today running of properties.
Council housing boss Paul Honeywood said: “It is an opportunity for landlords and managing agents to come along to a one-stop shop for help, advice and information on a range of issues that they have to deal with on an everyday basis.”
Similar events could be held in the future.
The event is the first of its kind held by the council and will include input from outside organisations, including the Department for Work and Pensions.
It take place at Clacton’s Princes Theatre on March 13 at 9.30am. For more details, go to tendringdc.gov.uk/ landlordevent
