AN appeal has been launched to boost community involvement in Clacton’s spectacular seafront gardens.
The floral sites run from the Memorial Garden near the pier along West Greensward and are maintained by Tendring Council.
While the council will continue to tend the gardens it wants residents to get more involved.
A Friends of Clacton Seafront Gardens group is set to be formed.
Council parks boss Trevor Mills said: “The council team will still do the main work but it would be good if we had a friends’ group which would provide a definite community involvement.”
School pupils sometimes help council staff with planting along the seafront sites, but bosses want more regular involvement at the Green Flag-winning attractions.
