A TOP-achieving Walton principal attended a special event at the House of Commons after winning a silver teaching award.
Benedick Ashmore-Short clinched the silver award in the category of Primary School Headteacher of the Year for inspiring major improvements at Hamford Primary Academy.
Organisers of the Pearson Teaching Awards set up the prestigious House of Commons event to reward the 60 silver award-winning teachers last week.
In October Mr Ashmore-Short will join the other silver award winners at the televised teaching award finals.
He is up against two other top primary school heads for the gold award in his category.
