YOUNGSTERS have been presented with special certificates for their part in promoting this year’s Clacton Carnival.
Almost 240 children at schools, nurseries and youth groups took part in the poster competition.
This year’s carnival theme is ‘fairy tales', and many of the posters illustrated classics such as Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and the Three Little Pigs.
The winner of the under five’s category was Lily Powell from Little Stars Nursery. The infants competition was won by Holland Park Primary pupil Evie Harling and the juniors winner was Lucas John Breadmore, of Alton Park Junior School.
The winning posters will be displayed in Clacton Library until July 15.
Clacton's carnival week takes place from August 9 and includes events such as the donkey derby, sandcastle competition and carnival parade.
