A NEWLY revamped yacht club held a special session to get youngsters onto the water.
Walton and Frinton Yacht Club recently completed work on its new £600,000 clubhouse and is making the most of the new facilities to get more youngsters involved.
A taster session for non-members was held on Saturday, giving children the chance to sail with a qualified instructor.
They spent three hours on the water, sailing and playing games on the club’s new dinghies, funded by Sport England.
Club rear commodore Anna Brooke said: “It's really great to see young sailors and potential sailors enjoying themselves on the water.
“With our new clubhouse we have become more family friendly, and are pleased to be getting ever more involved in the local community.”
The next open session will take place on Saturday June 14.
